Marx – thinker and revolutionary

Andy Brooks recalls Marx’s legacy
 by New Worker correspondent

Karl Marx died in London on 14th March 1883 but his memory lives on in his works, and those of his life-long comrade Frederick Engels, that are the foundation stones of scientific socialism.
Every year his passing is marked by a number of ceremonies including the annual address at Marx’s tomb in Highgate Cemetery and the New Communist Party’s more modest annual reception at the Party Centre in Battersea last week.
The immense contribution that Marx and Engels made in the struggle for the emancipation of the working class can never be forgotten said Andy Brooks, the NCP leader whose sentiments were echoed by Michael Chant from the RCPB (ML) and Dermot Hudson of the Korean Friendship Association.
Finally National Chair Alex Kemphall made a spirited call for the fighting fund which raised £221 for the New Worker.
